Our HistoryIn 1985, Abenicio Sisneros and three of his four sons, Martin, Alex, and Philip began installing residential ductwork in Belen, New Mexico, located just 25 minutes south of Albuquerque. The youngest son, Joaquin, joined the company workforce when he came of age in 1992.
With an initial bankroll of less than $2,000, the father and sons purchased a second hand pick-up truck, a four-foot hand brake and a portable 24 gauge Lock-former Pittsburgh lock machine. What they lacked in equipment, they more than made up in entrepreneurial spirit.
The developing business didn't have a shop, so they trucked their machines to the job site. At the job site they formed the ductwork that they would install. It wasn’t long before their business started to grow rapidly. One residential job would lead to two more. Residential jobs started leading to small commercial jobs. All the while, the father and sons continued to purchase more equipment, acquire larger buildings and hire more employees. Eventually, they out grew three different shops.
In 1990, the family team noticed that the demand amongst local contractors for prefabricated ductwork was immense. In 1991, Sisneros Bros. made the decision to change their operations and become manufacturers of ductwork. They also decided to no longer install ductwork. Financially, it was tough decision and their decision included many obstacles to overcome. One major obstacle was a boycott from once loyal union contractors, which almost crushed their ambitions of becoming a manufacturing company. However, with their commitment to their values and dedication to their customers their gamble paid off.
Sisneros Bros. Mfg. now employees 35+ full time employees in a 65,000 sq. ft. plant and is selling pre-fabricated custom built ductwork nationwide to some very demanding industries. Some of their products make it into internationally demanding markets such as Germany. As far as Sisneros Bros. Mfg. is concerned, the sky is the limit for it’s possibilities. Sisneros Bros Mfg hopes to become a leader in manufacturing processes which will increase efficiencies and reduce their delivery time.
Sisneros Bros Mfg is still a family ran business. More than half of it’s workforce is somehow related to the four founding members. The workforce now includes many grandchildren who are taking over active roles in the company as the original founders move towards retirement.
Flexibility is a trait that has helped Sisneros Bros. Mfg. grow successfully. They intend to continue to remain flexible. Sisneros Bros. Mfg previous experience as HVAC installation contractors , installing both residential and commercial ductwork, has allowed them to acquire an edge on their competition. They are better able to assist their customers more by understanding the ductwork installation challenges they face.
